CALLS FOR PROJECTS: COMET

As part of the PEPR ICCARE initiative, the COMET project aims to foster encounters between researchers, artists, and entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural industries (CCI) to drive scientific and technological advancements in immersive and interactive virtual spaces, particularly for augmented experiences within the metaverse.

We are pleased to announce the launch of two new COMET (Conceptions et usages des univers métaversiques) Calls for Projects under PEPR ICCARE for spring 2026.

These initiatives seek to strengthen collaboration between research and the CCI, offering unique opportunities to innovate, experiment, and build bridges between art, science, and technology in the fields of metaverse environments, virtual agents, and immersive experiences.

1. Small Projects Call (AAP "Petits Projets")

Deadline: May 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM Objective: Support innovative initiatives focused on the metaverse and immersive technologies, at the intersection of computer science and humanities/social sciences.

Key Details:

• Budget: Up to €20,000
• Duration: 1 to 2 years
• Eligibility: Researchers and teacher-researchers (Ministry of Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Culture)

2. Artist Residencies Call (AAP Résidences d’artistes)

Deadline: May 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM Objective: Support artistic creation linked to research by hosting artists in laboratories for co-creation and mediation projects with the CCI.

Key Details:

• Budget: Up to €15,000
• Duration: Up to 6 months spread over one year
• Eligibility: Artists
